SAP® AG PURCHASES MASS NOTIFICATION PLATFORM SERVER LICENSES FROM DESKTOP ALERT INC.

CHATHAM, NJ -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 06, 2006 -- Desktop Alert, Inc. (http://www.desktopalert.net) today announced that SAP AG (NYSE: SAP - News) one of the world's largest inter-enterprise software companies and the third-largest software supplier overall, has selected and purchased the firm's Enterprise Server licenses for mass notification delivery to desktops of critical personnel.

The Mass Notification System (MNS) offerings include the ability to publish alerts to thousands of devices on the network for alerting desktops, laptops and mobile devices. The platform architecture provides for alert publication over an Internet protocol (IP) created on the network. Alerts are sent over the network using standard SOAP/XML packets over port 80. An example protocol might be

Alerts are created using the web-based administration interface. The interface employs an embedded html editor, which enables the publisher of the alert to create alerts, and to preview and publish using rich text media if desired. External applications easily share data and commands with the alert platforms architecture, via an easy to a use web-services application-programming interface (API).

 

The web-based management system provides three levels of access to the alert interface that include administrator, moderator and end-user. These accounts are created automatically based on the existing organizational unit (OU) structure of the Active Directory.
