CHATHAM, NJ -- July 31, 2007 -- Desktop Alert, Inc. (http://www.desktopalert.net) today announced the release of the companies new media enhanced net-centric mass notification software platform Version 4.0. The platform provides publication of alerts using media formats such as live video, audio, flash, avi, mpeg, java and more direct to the desktop.
The new network alert system (NAS) platform release provides a easy to use enterprise-level media enhanced interface for rapid alert publication of video and audio alerts. "The platform is state-of-the art alert-to-desktop technology. The ability to publish flash, video, audio and images along with rich text is now a thirty second or less endeavor using Desktop Alert 4.0. The addition of cell phone messaging is totally managed by the Active Directory or the end-users themselves and cell phone alert publication is now accomplished either by the network in-house SMTP service or by aggregation through our alliance with SendWordNow thereby extending our alerting and response services for international two way SMS and international voice calling." Howard Ryan, CEO Desktop Alert Inc.
UNLIMITED MEDIA: Desktop Alert 4.0 does not restrict media usage for alerts-to-desktop with a "canned" or packaged file solution. The interface provides load access to a server side repository where media formats such as Live/Streaming Video, Shockwave®, Windows Media® (mpegs, wmv etc), audio files, animated gifs and standard browser image formats (jpeg, gif, png etc) may be both easily loaded and accessed for rapid alert publication. Desktop Alert 4.0 provides optimization for media publication to reduce network congestion from large video and audio file size publication. When a new media file is embedded in an alert and then delivered to a workstation or desktop the Desktop Alert client application caches the media file on the local hard drive. If that media file is published again at any future date the client application will execute the file from the local drive and eliminate server and network overhead. Further, media files may be distributed to workstations across a desired time interval prior to the actual alert publication thereby eliminating network slowdowns caused by large media file publication. Administrators can create on-the-fly audio-visual alerts with existing media or on-the-fly generated audio-video files instantly.
SECURE MEDIA: The new media implementation has a significant impact on secure networks because now mixed-content settings do not need to be enabled within the web servers Internet/Intranet Group Policy Editor since the 100% of media can be referenced from behind the firewall of the certificate enabled web server. Desktop Alert 4.0 is Common Access Card (CAC) compliant.
The Mass Notification System (MNS) offerings include the ability to publish alerts to thousands of devices on the network for alerting desktops, laptops and mobile devices. The platform architecture provides for alert publication over an Internet protocol (IP) created on the network.
The notification platform shares data across HTTP or HTTPS (port 80 or 443 with a certificate) connections utilizing Soap-Xml packets across the Intranet, Internet, SIPRNet or NIPRnet. Desktop Alert supports IP address block size expansions too.
ex: 127.0.0.1.100
These SoapXML packets also provide the ability to port highly encrypted digital certificates as high as 2048 bit. These certificates insure the highest level of security when sharing information between various U.S. Military Agencies and U.S. Armed Forces.
