Buckley Air
Force Base Selects Desktop Alert For Enterprise-Level Base Wide
Network Centric Mass
Notification
CHATHAM, NJ
(PRWEB)
-- October 2nd, 2007 -- Desktop Alert, Inc. (http://www.desktopalert.net)
today announced the company has been selected by Buckley Air
Force Base as the base network-centric mass notification
platform of choice.
Buckley Air Force
Base is home to more than 10,000 men and women who proudly
guard our nation's high frontier by providing combatant
commanders with superior global surveillance, worldwide
missile warning, homeland defense and expeditionary forces.
Buckley is home to more than 37 other units representing every
branch of service and components -- Active Duty, National
Guard and Reserve.
Buckley Air Force Base has procured Desktop
Alert’s network-centric emergency notification system to
provide base-wide emergency notification using the base’s
existing Internet Protocol (IP) network. The procurement and
deployment followed a successful year-long usage of the
Desktop Alert notification platform at neighboring Peterson
Air Force Base. Buckley Air Force Base was provided with
compelling references which were crucial in selection of
Desktop Alert.
The alerts appear as pre-defined or on-the-fly
pop-up windows which force immediate attention to workstation
receiving the message with instructions for the action(s) to
be taken. A video, audio, image and or textual alert
automatically sound/appear over the computer’s monitor and
speakers. Alerts are received base-wide within an average of
one minute after the alert is sent.
Buckley's Air Force Base’s
emergency alert system operates via Desktop Alerts Web-based
administrative interface. Using this web-based console,
administrators
OR moderators may publish alerts from any computer
connected to the base’s network.
"The selection by Buckley Air Force Base is a
continuation of Desktop Alert evaluation and procurement
across Colorado's most prestigious U.S. Air Force
installations which also include nearby Peterson Air Force
Base as well as The United States Air Force Academy.
Above and beyond desktop alerting, Desktop Alert provides
Department of Defense facilities with advanced critical
features such as surveillance videos, training videos, XMPP
instant messaging, live video conferencing and more to any
workstation with a single mouse click. These additional
feature capabilities provide our military clientele with the
industry's most advanced state-of-the-art Enterprise-Level
alerting platform while distancing Desktop Alert from less
capable
network-centric mass notification technologies.", said Howard
Ryan, president and CEO of Desktop Alert Inc.
